In her tribute titled, ‘The Classroom Compass’, Manahel Rafi talks about her Arabic teacher Seena Almahan. Seena Almahan teaches middle and high school Arabic at Ilm Academy and is the Director of the Arabic Program at the school.
In the often unpredictable journey of learning, a reliable guide is essential, someone who helps navigate the complexities of knowledge and growth. For many students, that guide is Khala Seena. Like a compass, she provides steady direction, offering both clarity and purpose amid the challenges of academic life. Seena Almahan is no towering, eccentric figure commanding attention through extremes. Instead, she governs her classroom with a practiced equilibrium. Her appearance is unassuming, her manner approachable. What sets her apart is not a flamboyant personality or a magnetic flair, but a steady, thoughtful energy that anchors her students in both curiosity and discipline.
Khala Seena teaches Arabic, a subject often weighed down by its perceived rigidity or obscurity, yet in her hands, it becomes a living language, infused with rhythm, relevance, and reflection.
